The Grant Managers Network

The Grants Managers Network (GMN) provides a forum to exchange information about grants management and its relevance to efficient and effective grant making. GMN is an affinity group of the Council on Foundations and a project of the Rockefeller Family Fund. GMN currently has 1,000 members representing more than 700 private, community and corporate foundations.

Grants Managers Network 2007 Annual Conference
On March 26-28, 2007 GMN held its second Annual Conference "Building Bridges to Effective Grants Management" in San Francisco (click here to download a copy of the conference program). Over 300 grants management professionals attended this conference representing over 220 private, corporate and community foundations from 35 states and the District of Columbia. The conference included sessions on legal, financial and technological issues. Attendees at this conference came away with ideas for enhancing and furthering their own foundations' work and missions, and garnered support from and a sense of community with their colleagues in the exciting and growing field of grants management. Presentations will be available online shortly.

Staffing Grants Management
Defining the Standards for Philanthropy
The staffing needs and duties of the grants management function vary between foundations. This booklet was created as a guide to inform the philanthropic community about the diverse tasks assigned to - and staffing needs necessary for - the grants management function. It defines the numerous roles of grants management and its importance as the department in a foundation in which program, finance, communications, application, approval and administrative functions overlap. GIGI Now Showing on GMN
In June, 2002, GMN launched its expanded member website Group Intelligence on Grantmaking Information (GIGI). This site is intended to help connect GMN members to ideas, enable an exchange of experience and insight between members, and allow this critical information to flow and spark new ideas in order to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of grants managers nationally. Members click here to access the site.

The Grants Managers Network never solicits memberships over the phone or through the mail. Furthermore, we do not make grants or have access to information on obtaining grants. If you have been a victim of this fraud, contact your bank and your local authorities. You should also contact the FTC Consumer Fraud hotline at 877-382-4357, and file a complaint with the Internet Crime Complaint Center.
